Code of Ethics
Upholding Ethical Standards
RAMPSociety™ members share a responsibility to maintain the highest level of professionalism and ethics. These core values—integrity, respect, commitment, competence, fairness, and responsibility—form the foundation of trust within the healthcare industry. Adherence to these standards ensures that RAMPSociety™ certifications remain meaningful and respected across the healthcare landscape.
When confronted with a situation that tests your ethical judgment, it is important to remember that: Professionalism is not defined by perfection, but by your ability to take responsibility, learn from missteps, and consistently act in alignment with high ethical standards.
Professional Ethics and Conduct: RAMPSociety™ Member Commitment
As a condition of continued membership, all RAMPSociety™ members are expected to uphold the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct. These expectations are in place to reinforce public trust in the competency and integrity of individuals who hold RAMPSociety™ credentials. Any breach of these principles, as reviewed by the RAMPSociety™ Ethics Committee, may result in disciplinary action, including the loss of membership or certification.
The Ethics Committee serves to ensure consistency with RAMPSociety™ rules and expectations but is not a legal body. Complaints must be based either on documented violations of RAMPSociety™ policy (e.g., falsifying CEUs or misuse of credentials) or applicable legal rulings (e.g., Medicare exclusions or fraud convictions).
Core Ethical Principles
Integrity
At industry events or online forums, individuals with integrity engage constructively, focus on learning, and avoid disrespectful commentary. Mistakes are inevitable, but how you respond with accountability and improvement defines your character.
Respect
As a RAMPSociety™ member you commit to showing respect for your credentials and for RAMPSociety™ itself through upholding your responsibilities, meeting continuing education requirements, and contributing constructively to professional discussions.
Commitment
As a RAMPS® member, you commit to upholding ethical standards and advancing your professional skills by working to elevate your knowledge, supporting peers, and participating in initiatives that benefit the broader healthcare community.
Competence
RAMPSociety™ members are expected to demonstrate and maintain a high standard of accuracy, diligence, and responsibility as foundational to professional competence and credibility.
Fairness
RAMPSociety™ members are called to hold themselves and their organizations accountable for ethical, legal, and balanced actions through applying fairness in making decisions impartially, treating colleagues equitably, and avoiding conflicts of interest.
Responsibility
Responsibility as RAMPSociety™ member requires that you are answerable for your actions and for fulfilling your professional duties to the best of your ability. It includes ethical decision-making, acknowledging mistakes, and taking initiative to correct errors.
As a member, you are called to protect the reputation of the RAMPSociety™ community by modeling professional behavior and holding others accountable when necessary, thereby contributing to a culture of trust and excellence.
